A standout feature: the cooktop rests on a farm table-style structure crafted from reclaimed wood, inspired by similar pieces from a local appliance showroom also designed by De Giulio.

The freestanding cooktop and oven elements were inspired by De Giulio’s earlier design for the Gaggenau display in the Abt appliance showroom.

Elegant cabinetry, hidden appliances, and a sculptural island crowned by a designer pendant create a kitchen that’s as stunning as it is functional.

Refined cabinetry, integrated appliances, a sculptural island and designer pendant all combine to make this kitchen seamless, practical and also a showpiece.

Long marble island adds storage and scale.

The long +Segmento island, with its storage on the outside and its waterfalled marble benchtop at either end, makes the sleek kitchen appear bigger than the available space would actually allow.

Responding to the owners’ request for a dedicated drinks station, the designer incorporated one behind sleek pocket doors in a secondary bank of cabinetry.

Hardwearing surfaces were a must. Neolith from CDK Stone gives the island its sculptural presence, while the cooktop benchtop, splashback, and scullery surfaces in black Dekton maintain the kitchen's sleek, dark theme.

All working surfaces are tough and hardwearing. The designer used Neolith from CDK Stone as a feature for the island while for the cooktop benchtop, splashback and scullery, black Dekton was selected, to keep in with the dark theme.

The dual-island layout features an outer island for seating and an inner island for cooking—an arrangement that supports both daily family life and effortless entertaining.

The layout has the outer island where you sit, and the inner island with the cooktop in front of the back wall with the sink area. The owners spend time at home with family and entertaining so the layout and design needed to be very functional.

Split cabinetry zones offer purposeful storage.

Cooking on the island is uninterrupted thanks to a hidden Neff downdraft.

The use of the in-bench Neff downdraft meant that cooking on the island was possible without the distraction of an overhead rangehood.

The sculptural Whispair extractors avoid blocking sightlines to the mountain views.

A seamless benchtop and statement rangehood add a sleek, tailored look.

Flush fitting the induction cooktop into the Staron creates a seamless plane across the rear benchtop. The metal rangehood cover is another design feature.

Beside it, a modern console in polished and brushed steel—also raised on legs—houses the steam and wall ovens, offering contrast and cohesion through thoughtful design.

Concrete flooring runs through the kitchen, in keeping with the home's rugged brick walls.

Designer: I used the pipe style extractors to minimise the obstruction of the mountain views and to echo the style of the round rustic feature table.

Located on the street side of the home, the contemporary kitchen is spacious and light filled.
