From the designer:
This master retreat studio ensuite was designed to fulfil the homeowners’ desire for a luxurious yet rustic space that harmonised with their existing country cottage.
The layout was planned to maximise convenience and aesthetic appeal, incorporating modern materials in a cohesive and minimalistic manner that evoked nostalgia and tranquillity.

Upon entering through the double sliding doors, attention is drawn to the custom-built timber vanity. Crafted from American Oak timber, it showcases warm tones that complement the stone benchtop. A round mirror and wall light add a playful touch, while the choice of brass tapware and accessories enhances the rustic charm.
Behind the vanity wall, a spacious walk-in shower is adorned with glossy mosaic tiles, while an integrated shelf offers practicality and convenience for housing soaps and toiletries.
The toilet, discreetly positioned on the opposite side of the room, ensures privacy, despite not having a separate door. The freestanding bath, strategically placed under a large picture window at the room’s end, provides stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
High ceilings and exposed rafters create a light and airy atmosphere. Natural light pours into the ensuite, illuminating the room and highlighting the minimalistic design. Energy-efficient LED lights, thoughtfully incorporated, add a playful touch to the design.
The design team successfully created a master retreat studio that seamlessly blends modern luxury with rustic charm. The space exudes a calming ambience, thanks to the specification of natural materials, neutral colours, and the emphasis on natural light, serving as a haven within the country cottage, and offering a place of respite and rejuvenation.
