This showhome demonstrates that high performance and design excellence can go hand in hand.

Conceived to eventually become a permanent residence, the home is built around passive design principles that maximise comfort, energy efficiency, and connection to place.

Efficient, functional layout

An efficient and functional layout balances the needs of a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath main dwelling with an attached residential flat – creating a sense of spaciousness without excess.

Every window and door has been thoughtfully positioned and proportioned to frame the surrounding landscape and capture the dramatic peaks of the Wakatipu Basin.

Warm, tactile interiors

The interior, by Forager Studio, brings warmth and tactility to the home’s clean, considered architecture.

A palette of natural oak, wool carpet, and soft French wash walls lends an airy lightness while maintaining depth and texture.

Master bedroom – windows are trained on the landscape at every opportunity.

The beauty and calming nature of wood is reflected in teh wood floor, wood rectangular dining table and continues onto the feature ceiling.

Natural drama and tranquillity

This interior and kitchen within it draw from the drama of the home's awe-inspiring Queenstown landscape – a relaxing material palette is rooted in the earthy tones and rich textures that echo the surrounding alpine forest

The owners wanted a kitchen that would embrace natural materials and subtle contrasts, including wood vener cabinetry and stone benchtops and splashback.

Big picture

Maintaining material consistency across a large space without creating visual monotony was a consideration for this kitchen – European White Oak served as the foundation, yet depth and variation were introduced through nuanced changes in texture and construction
