From the kitchen designer:
The hero of this home focusses on the heartbeat of the interiors – the main kitchen.
Function, experience and craftsmanship were at the forefront of the design brief.
Undoubtedly a statement piece, the challenge was to create a functional kitchen that also serves as a meeting and gathering point for both the occupants and for entertaining visitors alike.
The kitchen is centrally set within the home’s footprint – in direct view and access from the entry lobby and outdoor courtyard.
Ancillary elements such as a separate beverage and servery counter enables the main island to be free of clutter for casual gatherings.
The circular servery bar-station also serves the dining and living areas while the island incorporates concealed ice storage niche within the benchtop.
Colour and texture used in the interiors are intended to evoke emotion and intrigue.
This was the key design approach to the interior experience of the home which complements the owners’ personalities and is carried through into the design and experience of the kitchen.
Sculptural in form, the kitchen’s refined detailing and rich material palette of Verde Alpi marble, brass and ribbed panelling amplify the culinary and dining experience.
This refinement and detail continue through to the butler’s pantry, master bedroom, kitchenette and wine cellar – all taking reference from the main kitchen hub.
Darker layered tones were introduced to amplify the Verde Alpi stone.
Rosso lavanto marble adds warmth within the wine cellar, heightening the underground wine room experience.
Textural and tactile finishes add to the rich tonal palette such as ribbed joinery panels, hexagonal mosaic wall and floor tiles, and reeded glass – the last to obscure views into the butlers pantry cupboard yet still allowing filtered light through.
Olive green carpet to the staircase gives a warm welcome to the entry lobby when entering the home and as you progress through the lobby continuing back to the kitchen as the main hub.
Soft radius edges were introduced to soften the formal room arrangement to custom designed joinery.
