Project background

The owners were designing their new home in the beautiful Darfield area and wanted a kitchen that would be the standout feature of their living space.

After visiting our showroom, they were inspired by our front display kitchen and decided to replicate the materials and design elements in their own home.

Design objectives

  • Create a functional and aesthetically stunning kitchen as the highlight of their new home.
  • Incorporate modern, high-quality materials to provide a luxurious look and feel.
  • Ensure the kitchen is family-friendly, with ample storage and seating for their children.
The owners wanted a kitchen that would be the standout feature of their living space – teh island in concrete with engineered stone benchtop played a part.

Materials and design elements

Kitchen materials

  • Bossa Walnut Timber Veneer (wood veneered front with embossed 2 mm deep channels in a vertical direction) – on cabinetry.
  • Concrete Manhattan (spatula technique concrete with a matt lacquered finish) – used on island.
  • Neolith Iron Copper Satin – used for the benchtops and splashback, offering a sleek, modern look.

Functional design features

  • Handleless drawers and cupboards – designed with LEICHT Tip Soft Close mechanisms for a seamless, minimalist aesthetic.
  • Inset handles – powder-coated in ‘Fossil Grey’ to complement the Concrete Manhattan doors.
  • Seating area on the island – custom seating for the children, making the space functional for family use.
  • Storage solutions – ample storage for food and condiments, including Bora cooktop with recirculating ventilation, which also maximised upper cupboard space.
  • Double Door Fridge Freezer – existing appliance integrated seamlessly into the design, surrounded by matching walnut timber veneer on the side and back walls.
