From the designer:

The setting for this design was a dated three storey holiday home, ready for replanning and a total refresh.

Our kitchen is an integral part of the whole project.

Homeowner brief

Our brief was to replan the floor plan to create an effective open plan kitchen, dining, living space.

The owners list of requirements included:

  • light filled
  • connect to outdoors
  • refined but relaxed finishes
  • modern yet homely

Kitchen design response

The existing kitchen has become a bedroom and pantry, with the new kitchen pulling into the new larger open-plan space on the beach side of the home.

Large window openings, and stacking pocket sliders provide further connection to the outdoor space and the beach beyond.

Ocean breezes and family gatherings are celebrated in this space, focussed on gentle tones and relaxed living.

Our selection of appliances was focussed on quality and ease of use; with the finishes pared back to a simple palette of oak, white, Sky White Quartzite and Micro-cement.
