This heritage villa in Mount Victoria has been reimagined into a bold, layered home that honours its past while embracing contemporary life.

The home’s classic heritage frontage has been restored to its former glory.

With architectural guidance from Slessor Architects, the original villa’s formal façade and period detailing were respectfully restored, forming a timeless foundation for a striking rear extension that engages with the garden and a cherished century-old pear tree.

Inside, a refined palette of rich timber veneers, veined stone, fluted glass, and industrial accents creates a gallery-like backdrop for the owners’ extensive contemporary art collection.

Striking Mid-century furniture contributes to the rear extension's character – the back door is to the left.

Mid-century and raw industrial motifs are woven through custom joinery, sculptural lighting, and curated furniture – balancing texture, tone, and restraint.

The private spaces contrast the calm public zones, bursting with fearless colour and individuality through unexpected, jewel-toned combinations.

The result is a home that seamlessly fuses eras and identities – crafted, curated, and unapologetically expressive of its owners’ personalities.
