Panoramic Paradise in New Plymouth

Magical Section Secured

With a magical section secured and plans of designing and building their dream home in New Plymouth’s exclusive coastal farm community of Tapuae Country Estate, couple Pete and Claire were excited to embark on their journey with Landmark.

“Owners Pete and Claire found the land and approached Landmark to Design and Build it for them,” Scott says. “Originally, they wanted to build a large Tuscan-style home using the Te Anau Ready to Build Plan. When their circumstances changed, they didn’t want to lose their section, so we pivoted direction and built a beach-style holiday home that focuses on the views.”

Trusted Team

With unforeseen circumstances seeing the couple moving north before building began, it was up to the trusted team at Landmark’s New Plymouth & Taranaki franchise to craft the breath taking bach.

“It was a bit sad when the clients left,” Scott says. “That day, they came into the office and reviewed the plans. They were happy and said go ahead and get it done. Pete and Claire put a lot of faith in us, and we were happy to repay their trust with this incredible holiday home.”

Stone's Throw From The Sea

Just a stone’s throw from the sea, the modern four bedroom home nestles perfectly into the landscape. Its elongated style, separated into two distinct wings, and large sliding glass doors maximise the natural light and make the most of the views from every angle.

“One of the standouts of this build, apart from the view,” Scott says, “is the covered portico connected to the open-plan lounge and kitchen. A three-sided shelter lets the couple enjoy the spectacular scenery without worrying about the elements.”

Heritage Heart

Details Matter

The addition of finials, gracefully attached to curved exposed feature beams, along with timber detailing and intricate fretwork, emphasise the classic villa aesthetic.

Inside, heritage elements include ceiling roses – a quintessential villa feature – and an elegant internal arch with corbelled ends in the hallway. The hallway itself stands out with panelling and timber moulding, perfectly capturing the classic villa aesthetic while seamlessly integrating modern materials.

Plenty of natural light was another must-have for this five bedroom home, achieved with the addition of a large bay window and wide opening sliders in the living spaces.

In a clever blend of past and present, the kitchen reflects a home that honours its historical roots while catering to the demands of modern living. A colour palette of calming blue and crisp white is offset with pops of black and custom detailing. Antique-style tapware and a ceramic sink bowl hark back to a bygone era, while retro-style appliances add nostalgia without compromising on function. A well-thought-out addition is the scullery which provides extra storage and preparation space, leaving the main kitchen area clean and uncluttered.

The main suite offers a spacious yet cosy haven, where classic villa charm meets contemporary design. As with the rest of the home, high ceilings adorned with ceiling roses elevate the room’s elegance. A spacious walk-in wardrobe with custom-built shelving flows seamlessly into a fully tiled ensuite. This space is designed for relaxation and tranquillity with light blush subway tiles that complement the bedroom’s pastel pink and green hues.

Quality Chartsmanship

This remarkable home stands as a shining example of Landmark Homes’ expertise in crafting homes infused with personality and character. It’s a testament to Landmark Homes’ commitment to marrying aesthetic excellence with forward-thinking, quality construction, ensuring that each new build isn’t just a house, but a legacy.

“It’s fair to say that Kate and her family absolutely love their new home,” says Landmark Homes Auckland South & Franklin franchise co-owner Michael Walters.

For Kate and Jason, their beautiful new villa is not merely a nod to the past but a canvas for creating new memories that their family will treasure for generations.

Living in luxe

Taking pride of place within its sprawling, landscaped section, this four bedroom residence built by Landmark Homes North Shore and Rodney offers an exquisite blend of luxurious living and modern design. With a generous floorplan of 276m2 in the main home and an additional 25m2 dedicated to the stylish pool house, this home truly serves as a spacious haven for its discerning owners.

The exterior offers an eye-catching blend of Herman Pacific vertical cedar shiplap weatherboard and James Hardie Linea Oblique cladding, topped off with durable Colorsteel long-run roofing. Black Vantage Aluminium joinery elegantly complements the cedar soffits, while Kudos louvres add a touch of innovative design to the pergola.

Poolside Paradise

Taking centre stage within the outdoor entertaining area is the custom-designed heated pool complete with a beach entry – the perfect summer escape. And when the weather is cooler or muscles are achy, the in-ground spa is a welcoming, warming retreat.

Ensuring safety without compromising on aesthetics, the frameless glass balustrades, accented with black fittings, blend harmoniously with the home’s exterior palette. The patios and pool coping, in cut concrete with oxide, create a sophisticated finish.

Space for the master chef

Crafted by the renowned Kitchens by John Prosser, the kitchen and its adjacent scullery create the heart of the home. The Blanco Pampas quartzite benchtop, sourced from CDK Stone, looks sublime set against Dezignatek cabinetry in Kombu Green. The addition of Tasmanian Ash timber accents adds a warm, natural aesthetic. The splashback ties the design together perfectly.

Underfoot, laminate timber flooring is paired with wool textured carpet offering warmth and comfort.

Every detail, from the Plumbline Buddy brushed brass tapware to the top-notch Fisher & Paykel appliances, has been handpicked for a seamless culinary experience.

The main bathroom

A vision in contrasts, the main bathroom offers a hint of retro underpinned by modern luxury. The St Michel City 50 vanity combines a striking blend of Indian Ink with fresh white.

The Blush Subway tiles stand out beautifully against the inky wall tones. Finished with Plumbline Buddy tapware in brushed brass, this bathroom is an elegant blend of past and present, truly capturing a unique design spirit.
