The setting
Designed and built with connection to the environment in mind, this contemporary home, by Wendy Shacklock Architects, has a facade that ‘bends’ with the site – so that the entire north and west facing facades effectively form a sheltered bay – maximising water views to the west and north, as well as passive solar gain from the north.
Central to this, and possibly the most popular space in the home, is a sheltered al fresco entertaining/dining space.
Centre of attention
Pride of place in the outdoor room is a feature that’s both eye-catching and soul-warming – a Jetmaster Alfresco Outdoor Wood Fireplace.
Double skin steel and open fire charm
This rugged double-skin steel fireplace with open-front ambience was ideal for the owners’ lifestyle and of course the setting itself.
Plus, the Jetmaster Alfresco Outdoor Wood Fireplace features both a grill and hotplate for your outdoor wood-fire cooking convenience.
It also offers both radiant and convection heat and, importantly, requires minimal cleaning – around once a year!
Plus, no setting is too big or two small – the Jetmaster Alfresco Outdoor Wood Fireplace is available in five sizes with a protective stainless steel screen also available.
Powerful heating
Jetmaster’s original design increases the heating capacity of a normal brick or stone open fire by as much as 5 times!
Jetmaster fires warm the room in two ways – through radiated heat directly off the fire and through convection technology.
The convection heating system draws cool air beneath the fire bed and releases it back into the room as hot air from the top.
The convection chamber warms the current of air as it contacts the hot steel adjacent to the fire, regaining heat that is normally lost up the chimney.
As the hot air leaves the unit it causes a vacuum for more cool air to be drawn through the convection chamber, creating a natural cold-to-warm circulation.
