This new home by Landmark Homes New Plymouth and Taranaki in Bell Block showcases modern craftsmanship and thoughtful design.

The pavilion-style, family home offers a sophisticated and spacious environment.

Bringing together a harmonious blend of natural materials, the exterior features clean, contemporary architectural lines with high-sloping rooflines that create a striking silhouette.

Vertical cedar weatherboards add warmth and texture, while a striking schist pillar adds a touch of rugged elegance and leads the way to the front door.

This combination of natural stone and timber creates an inviting entryway, setting the tone for the rest of the home.

Space, light, and views

The 227m² pavilion-style layout offers three bedrooms plus a study that can double as a fourth bedroom.

High sloping ceilings in the kitchen, dining, and family areas create an open and airy atmosphere, while extra-height windows admit plenty of sunlight and make the most of great views.

The living spaces flow effortlessly to the outdoor areas, creating a relaxed, indoor-outdoor New Zealand lifestyle.

Scott Vile, franchisee for Landmark Homes New Plymouth and Taranaki, says that pavilion-style homes are definitely rising in demand, especially on rural properties that offer a bit of space.

“With a practical single-level layout, this home is perfect for the changing needs of families across various ages and stages.”

Although the home is based on another Landmark Homes 264.8m² plan, this floorplan has been reduced to suit the site.

Warm and inviting

The interior design, by interior designer Megan Ekdahl, features an earthy colour scheme with tones of olive, mustard, greys, blacks, and creams.

The Quickstep Soft Oak laminate flooring and Feltex carpet in Salisbury Solstice ties it all together to create a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.

“Using neutral colours as a base, Ekdahl added accents of gold and darker shades of green throughout the home,” says Scott Vile.

“These touches bring a cohesive look and add a bit of luxury to each room.”

In the kitchen and living areas, tongue-and-groove timber cathedral ceilings bring rustic charm without compromising on the modern feel.

Combined with skylights, a generously high stud height, and cathedral windows, the main living area feels beautifully spacious with plenty of natural light.

Individualistic design elements, such as the black framed glass doors that separate the kitchen and private lounge, add a contemporary touch.

These doors not only look stylish but also optimise natural light flow through the home, enhancing the overall sense of openness and connectivity.

The modern kitchen features sleek black cabinetry paired with top-of-the-line black appliances.

The large island breakfast bar is ideal for casual meals and entertaining, adding both functionality and style to the space.

Just off the main kitchen area is a spacious butler’s pantry, providing extra storage and keeping the main kitchen clutter-free.

This is the ideal setup for those who love to cook and entertain, offering plenty of room to prep, store, and organise.

The home has an expansive feel despite its modest footprint – a glass wall adds to the generous look.

Bathroom bliss

The bathrooms balance aesthetic appeal and practical design.

The powder room makes a bold statement with its feature wallpaper in black with green birds and gold accents.

A beaded gold-edged mirror adds a touch of glamour, tying the room together.

The family bathroom and ensuite continue the sophisticated look.

The main bathroom features grey tiles, twin oval mirrors, and a full-tiled shower while the ensuite includes twin sinks, ensuring ample space and convenience.

Both bathrooms use large grey floor tiles, which not only add an industrial-chic look but are also practical for everyday use.

Indoor-outdoor lifestyle

The outdoor living space is perfect for entertaining and enjoying the relaxed New Zealand lifestyle.

The deck and alfresco dining area make the most of the all-day sun, providing a great space for summer meals and gatherings.

The indoor-outdoor flow is seamless with large slider doors that open from both the separate lounge and the formal lounge onto the deck – making the most of the beautiful outdoor environment.

Featuring black cabinetry and appliances, the laundry offers a stylish, cohesive look and feels upscale and well-integrated with the rest of the interior.
