Mark and Lauren’s new four bedroom home in Mount Maunganui is a stunning example of the high standards of craftsmanship, design, and functionality that Landmark Homes is known for. Built using Landmark Homes Remove and Rebuild service, this beautiful home recently earned a prestigious Gold Award in the 2024 Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition.
Coming Up With A Plan
With plans to build their new dream home, Mark and Lauren found the perfect location in Mount Maunganui. The 940m2 site included an existing home, which the couple lived in for 18 months to help them decide on the best orientation and layout for their new home.
Mark and Lauren initially had their plans drawn up by an architect, but they soon realised that the build cost was going to exceed their budget.
That’s where the expertise and experience of the Landmark Homes Bay of Plenty team made all the difference.
“We met with New Homes Consultant Glenn Halls who took a look at the plans and was able to come up with a revised design.
The result is a stunning new home that showcases thoughtful design and modern features, both inside and out.
Let There Be Light
Featuring a striking combination of Stria and San Selmo reclaimed bricks, the home has a distinctive and timeless look. The clean lines and contemporary design are complemented by beautiful landscaping that adds to the modern minimalist aesthetic.
Stepping inside, the interior is just as impressive. The split-level layout combines with large sliding glass doors and high ceilings – reaching over four metres in some areas – to flood the space with natural light and capture those impressive views.
All’s Calm In The Kitchen
The kitchen is warm and inviting, blending calming whites with light wood cabinetry, sleek stone countertops, and high-end appliances. A standout feature is the large waterfall island bench, perfect for casual meals and entertaining. Alongside, a large scullery provides extra storage and prep space, making it easy to host gatherings and keep the kitchen space tidy.
The open-plan layout seamlessly connects the kitchen to the spacious living areas. The main lounge area features a three-stacker slider, enhancing the connection to the outdoor spaces and providing a seamless flow for indoor-outdoor living. Beds, Baths, And Beyond
The master suite is a true haven, offering ample space and full-width sliders that open out to the deck. The spa-like ensuite features a double vanity, a large walk-in shower, and elegant fixtures, all designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The three additional bedrooms are just as inviting. Each one is thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind, offering plenty of wardrobe space and large windows that flood the rooms with natural light.
The family bathroom doesn’t disappoint either. It boasts a stylish freestanding bathtub set against a nearly floor-to-ceiling, full-width window overlooking the garden. A walk-in shower and bronze fittings perfectly complement the white and light wood tones, creating a harmonious and elegant space.
The laundry room continues this blend of style and functionality, with sleek cabinetry in earthy tones, a generous light wood countertop, and plenty of storage space.
Exemplary Outdoor Living
One of the standout features of this home is the extensive terracing and decking that wraps around the living areas. These outdoor spaces are not just beautiful but incredibly functional, offering multiple spots – including a sheltered portico –for relaxation and entertainment. From lounging with a book, hosting a barbecue, or simply enjoying the fresh air, there’s a perfect spot for it.
The custom-designed pool is another highlight. It’s perfectly positioned to catch the sun all day, creating a warm, inviting oasis for the family. The pool area is framed by sleek, frameless glass balustrades that ensure safety while keeping the view completely unobstructed. The custom-designed pool is another highlight. Everything’s Golden
Mark and Lauren couldn’t be happier with their Gold medal award winning home. The open, sunlit spaces, combined with the functional design, have created a perfect environment for their family. They love how the living areas flow seamlessly into the outdoor spaces, making it easy to entertain guests or simply relax by the pool.
“The Landmark team were great to work with,” says Lauren. We’re thrilled with the final result. We’d happily recommend Landmark Homes to anyone considering a new build.”
