Gold, Maintenance (over 1,500m²), Landscapes of Distinction Awards 2025. Dalefield, Queenstown. By Kate Campbell Gardens and Residences.

Founded in 1996, Stonebridge Estate spans 50 hectares of land previously used for farming, and its owners experience the garden for just three months every summer. It needs to be at its best on the day they arrive each year, having survived four alpine seasons. Since 2023, Kate Campbell Gardens and Residences has been responsible for its upkeep, enhancing the soil and plant vitality within both the formal entrance gardens and the tranquil pond gardens.

Temporary windbreak fencing captures autumn foliage before it reaches the ponds, which are drained and de-silted every September to ensure water quality in Lake Hayes; compost is sourced from a local food waste program. The owners describe the garden as nothing short of enchanting.

Significance

Every Registered Master Landscaper has met rigorous standards to earn their designation, meaning the professional you choose is qualified, responsible, and supported by a national association that guarantees their work. Locate a Registered Master Landscaper at masterlandscapers.org.nz.
