This is a thoughtfully resolved ensuite renovation that transforms a compact footprint into a calm, spa-like retreat.

Designed to balance refined aesthetics with everyday practicality, the space responds directly to the owner’s brief for increased storage, integrated functionality, and tailored moments of comfort.

Curved nib wall – sculptural meets soap stand

A defining feature of the ensuite is the curved nib wall, which introduces softness to the architecture while serving a dual purpose.

Acting as a bath-side ledge for devices, it also maintains a clean, sculptural presence within the room.

Bespoke joinery plays a central role in maximising storage without visual clutter.

“A custom vanity with internal drawers provides layered, functional storage, while integrated laundry cabinetry and recessed mirror cabinets are concealed for a seamless, uninterrupted finish,” says Alannah Lyons, Lux Interiors.

Within the shower, a built-in seat and dual niches enhance usability while remaining visually understated.

Achieving openness in a compact space

The key challenge of the project was accommodating these functional requirements within a compact space while preserving a sense of openness.

This was achieved through careful spatial planning, integrated forms, and restrained detailing.

A light, natural palette is elevated with textured tiles and a complementary feature finish, adding depth and warmth.

The result is a cohesive, tranquil ensuite that feels considered, functional, and effortlessly calm.
